World's No. 1

After the Athens Olympic Games, I was assigned to train under Coach Li Mao of China. I did not like the sudden change. Fitness training became less and Coach Li kept finding weakness in my movement. The first six months under Coach Li, I had several conflicts with him and I slowly sensed that I was losing the fitness I had before. I was losing my confidence too. But every coach has his own particular strength. From misunderstanding and conflicts to adapting and accepting. I gradually accepted Coach Li’s training after nine months.

In 2008, I lost in the final of the Beijing Olympics to my toughest competitor, Lin Dan. He was so fast that I did not have any second to react. On 21st August, something extraordinary happened on the BWF world ranking system. My ranking further advanced. I have never made it this far before.  I’m now the World No.1 .
